Open Records is proud to present the first of our digital EPs in 2008, with the Fiord - Shine On EP.

Smoldering from the infamous Slowburning Studios at the bottom of the South Pacific this sultry electronic duo have been writing captivating beats and storming dance floors across the globe for the past 8 years.

As Antix, brothers Barton and Hayden Strom walked all over the trance scene, touring the world, playing 100's of live shows, captivating audiences far and wide and racking up tons of frequent flyer miles. After releasing 3 studio albums on Iboga and taking home a runner up prize in this year's Beatport awards, they are some of the hottest producers in the progressive scene.

With the birth of their new baby FIORD there is ONE rule – there are no rules. Their fresh sounds reek of a new approach, producing a textured timeless rhythm far hotter than any branding iron ready to stamp its mark. Taking on elements of techno, minimal, tech-house and combining with vocal elements and live instrumentation, Fiord has already seen hit tracks on labels like eVapour8, Beef, Tribal Vision, Flow Vinyl and here on Open Records.

The original mix of Shine On is a slowly building tech-house number filled with warm atmosphers and a deep funky groove that is guarenteed to move any dancefloor. Fellow Kiwis Drake & Orson provide an alternative, with both tracks versatile tools that will suit both DJs and home listeners alike.

Open Records are proud to release this new EP from New Zealand's finest and we hope you like it as much as we do! Stay tuned - the future is moving Fiord …
